Brad is the both the brains and brawn behind The Wellspring - managing the property, caring for the grounds, and quietly setting the stage for others to shine. With a heart for entrepreneurship, Brad wakes up before the sun to manage his other business, Gladfolk, and make breakfast every morning for his three hungry kids.

As a Wooster native, Brad is excited to meet his community’s needs for gatherings in the kind of woodsy and down-to-earth setting where he’s most comfortable.

Brad and Emily tied the knot 12 years ago beneath a trio of towering trees in a sunny midwestern meadow. Now, they’ve blended their love of the outdoors and eye for design to create a one-of-a-kind spot in Wooster where couples can begin their own sacred unions under the trees, surrounded by nature. The Wellspring is not their first business venture together, but it is their first leap into the world of weddings and events, and they can’t wait to serve their community through the creative use of this space.

our inspiration

It takes 40-45 gallons of tree sap to make one gallon of finished syrup!

did you know?

The Wellspring is situated against acres of mature trees, many of which are sugar maples. Each winter, we take to the woods and busily tap an assortment of maple trees, harvest the sap, and boil it all down to produce gallons of pure Ohio maple syrup. This timeless tradition tethers us to the land, gets us outside in February, and blesses us with an all-natural treat that we love sharing with clients, friends, and family.

When considering our logo, we wanted imagery inspired by nature that also honors our specific slice of rural Ohio. The maple seed is a nod to the land, and all the sweet gifts it gives us.
